Remote Work

Our office is located in central downtown Toronto. We operate remotely, this role will start off in-office during the training months and progress into a hybrid role with expectations of coming into the office a few days a week. Additionally we come together monthly, quarterly, and annually as a team for social events.

  • There will be an in-office and virtual schedule for the first three months of training

Job Description

The Junior BDR will work directly with Tennis's Executive Director to prospect, generate opportunities, learn,  drive new business, and learn. This role has long-term potential as the first full-time BDR at Tennis. We have scaled up and built a career roadmap for the first four roles within the sales function to coach and grow the junior BDR along the roadmap.

Responsibilities Include:

Months 1–3 are about learning as much about the business as possible. 

Day-to-day responsibilities at this early stage include researching, prospecting "tier 1" accounts, building relevance, cold calling, email outreach, relationship building, shadowing, and learning.

In addition, day-to-day responsibilities will include training and learning about the business, approach, philosophy, and process.

Success will be measured by the rep's ability to hit their activity metrics and the number of qualified sales opportunities. During year 1 Compensation will be a mix of based + commission on sales accepted opportunities.

Months 4–12 will be based on execution. By month four, the junior BDR will have a strong understanding of the tools, positioning, and strategy and can start sequencing some cold approaches from our sales software, Apollo, along with cold calls. Success will be measured by activity metrics and the number of Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAO) generated.

If the rep is successful in their first year, they will immediately move up to BDR level 2. Level 2 of this role will be base + commission on revenue sold.

This is an entry-level position with coaching provided. Experience in the following tools and functions is an asset.

  • CRM tools such as Close.io
  • Prospecting tools such as Apollo or similar
  • Utilizing video tools such as Loom in the sales process
  • Any experience prospecting and creating your process for staying organized

The ability to meet activity metrics and goals. Focused outreach, strategy, emails, phone calls, identifying opportunities, and learning. We intend to coach along the entire learning path and help bridge that gap between BDR levels 1 and 2 at the 12-month mark.
